The library/media center serves all segments of the college. Emphasis is placed on serving the instructional program with either books or media materials. The philosophical premise is to serve faculty and students with materials that meet specific instructional programs.
A variety of services are available depending upon the instructional or learning need of the patron. The staff will assist the patron in searching, locating and obtaining books, periodicals and media materials that meet learning or teaching objectives.
A variety of media materials are housed in the library media/center. If specific materials are not available locally, the staff will attempt to locate them from another institution. When requested, the staff have the ability to produce media materials for specific instructional needs. Media staff will prioritize incoming media productions according to these criteria:
A. production for instructional use;
B. production for college advancement
office;
C. production for other college in-house
use;
D. productions geared toward specific
student academic goals.
To provide an atmosphere that is conducive to learning for all students wishing to utilize the facilities, students are dissuaded from bringing children into the library.
An attempt to accommodate the patron's necessity to bring children into the library media/center will be considered if the visit is to check out or return library materials and can be accomplished during a brief interval, not to exceed five minutes. The library media/center staff will have the authority to make appropriate adjustments if circumstances allow.
Any patron, bringing a minor child into the
library, shall take full and complete responsibility for the child during
the library visit.

As group study and work has been
encouraged; a location for student group study is necessary. The library
study rooms were designed for student group study. The philosophy for
availability is for students who have initiated requests.
